We are reintroducing the Bartley Classic Reproductions' Hepplewhite Side Table project kit without a drawer, but with some enhancements. These enhancements include a more proportionally correct depiction of the table, with splayed legs.

Named for a London designer and cabinetmaker George Hepplewhite (?-1768), Hepplewhite furniture originated between 1780 and 1810, during the Federal period in the United States. Hepplewhite’s work was captured after his death in his book, The Cabinet Maker and Upholsterers Guide, published by his wife in 1788. The style was neoclassical, quite popular between New England and the Carolinas.

A key differentiator from other works of the period and before is the straight legs, which can be square or tapered. Reeded or fluted edges, designed to imitate Classical columns of Greek and Roman architecture, are not uncommon.

Hepplewhite feet are simple, often a rectangular spade foot or tapered arrow foot.

We are offering the Hepplewhite Side Table project kit without a drawer in Cherry, Mahogany, Walnut and Curly Maple. The table measures 17"W x 17"D x 27.5"H.

Shipping of this project kit expected in 6 - 10 weeks.

    Side table w/o drawer

Posted by William Walsh on Aug 2nd 2017

Another great easy kit. I made this one out of the maple and used aniline dye rather than stain. Very pleased with the result. This kit has nice dimensions and the construction is top-notch. The fit of the pieces was exceptional and the pieces came really well sanded. Although a simple kit is was well worth the time spent finishing it.
