Another Bartley Classic Reproductions project, the Windsor chair dates back to the 1700s when Thomas Jefferson and John Hancock were signing the Declaration of Independence. No less famous is the reproduction of the Windsor chair project kit created by Bartley Classic Reproductions. It is hand-crafted, just like the original. The project kit for the chair features wedged legs that extend through the seat and back spindles that are wedged through the hoop.
Did you know that the seat is far more than the center of the chair? The seat’s thickness anchors the legs in their tapered sockets, while offering the undercarriage strength and stability.
This chair is constructed in the traditional method, using multiple woods, which include Poplar for the seat, Ash for the bow, and Maple for the turnings and spindles.
The Side Chair assembled dimensions are 39″ H (overall), 17 1/2″ H (seat), 16″ W (seat), and 17 1/4″ D (seat).
This is a great project kit for those crafters looking for a more challenging project. A great accompanying chair for your Windsor Bow Back Arm Chair. (sold separately)
When you complete your Windsor Bow Back Side Chair, you can proudly take a seat on your new chair and say, “I built it myself with BayneBox.com.”
Please allow 4-6 weeks for this product to be sent if all of our existing supply are sold out.
Please note that due to the nature of this fine chair's construction and bowed back, the beginner woodworker may see this as a challenging project requiring a bit more effort or experience and skill.
